This game was a wild one- with Johnny Cueto making his first home start as a Giant, and nearly getting knocked out in the 1st inning! He would hang tough for the victory. This specific ball was pitched by Cueto, and hit by talented young Dodger outfielder Trayce Thompson for an infield single in the 5th inning. This would be the 4th hit of Thompson's Dodger career, and just the 40th overall. Clearly this is one of the earliest MLB authenticated hits that can be found anywhere of the emerging and talented Trayce Thompson (brother of GS Warriors star Klay). Perhaps this is the FIRST authenticated ball of his Dodger career?
