For the blade I used Mahogany Lace (Tri-flow) Obsidian with red black and clear in a lengthwise display from haft to tip. It has some of the best flaking and sharpest edges available--sharp enough to cut leather and the antler tip of the handle can be sharpened to make a leather punch. Its small and lite. This one is 7 7/8 inches over all length (2 3/8" blade) and would make a nice gift or collect for yourself. The obsidian blade has a sharp edge that has been tested to cut hog leather and, yes, it does cut leather. It also has very even parallel flaking the full length of the blade. Most of the stone knives available today do not have the sharp edges I attain and insist upon. The handle is made from a shed deer antler with a polished rosette. The haft is wrapped tight with sinew and makes a smooth transition from blade to handle bring to two together with line and flow. Obsidian Knives are fragile and should always be handled with caution and care and should never be used to cut food.
