Description: Here is a TOMINON 135mm f4.5 lens It is a wide-angle & a macro/process/reproduction lens usable on any format from Large and Medium format cameras down to 35mm and smaller. The name Tomioka may not be familiar to you, but they are a highly respected, behind-the-scenes lens maker. First and foremost, they designed and manufactured ALL of Yashica's camera lenses -- starting 75 years ago! They also made lenses for other camera makers, such as Contax, Kyocera, Mamyia, and Polaroid. While most of Tomioka's lenses bore other labels, some were sold with the Tominon label -- most notably enlarging, process, macro and reproduction lenses. This Tominon 135mm f4.5 lens is designed for close-up work with medium and large format cameras -- but can be used on ANY format camera (see below). Here are the specs: Lens: Tominon 135mm f4.5 Optical Design: Tessar-type - four elements in three groups Aperture blades: 12 Rear lens thread: 40mm Front Filter thread: 39mm Size: 28 x 50mm Weight: 94g It has a rear thread of 40mm because it is designed for a #1 shutter (NOT INCLUDED). When focused at infinity it has an image circle of 160mm, so it can be used as a moderate wide angle lens for 4x5" cameras. But it really shines are a copy/close-up/macro/process/reproduction lens. Just add more extension and the image circle increases in size with plenty of room for camera movements -- very important in close-up work. This lens can easily handle high magnifications such as 4-8X. For smaller formats, such as 35mm and digital, all that you need is an inexpensive adapter or two (step-up or down rings) from 40mm to the lens mount of your camera, and a means of extension (extension tubes or a bellows) -- NOT INCLUDED!!! The last three photos show this lens on three different setups: The first is on a 35mm camera with a Minolta lens mount using a bellows. The lens uses a 40mm-to-39mm step-down ring attached to a 39mm-to-Minolta adapter. The next shot is on a fulll-frame digital camera with a Sony a-mount using a bellows. The lens uses a 40mm-to-39mm step-down ring attached to a Minolta-to-Sony adapter. The last is on a 4x5 camera with a Copal #1 shutter. The lens does not need any adapter. The lens is in great shape -- see photos. The glass is perfect. No scrapes, scratches, dents, dings on the body. All paint is bright. There are f-stop scales on both sides of the lens. The 12-blade iris is amazingly round at all aperture settings. The aperture ring has slick-stops at all f-stops. It's a little stiff, but works fine. There is no oil on the aperture blades. It comes with the rear 40mm lens cap. If you have any questions, please ask me. NO RESERVE. NO HANDLING FEES -- the shipping cost is what the carrier charges , and not a penny more.
