Schlesinger, a proud feminist and contributor to the Radcliffe College Women's Archives, and her husband, Arthur M. Schlesinger Sr., moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1924 when he took a teaching position at Harvard. The archives were eventually renamed the Arthur and Elizabeth Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America. A nice Penguin original, in the rare jacket, with an interesting provenance.
