Description: This is a work of “cardart” made with Tom Glavine's 1989 Bowman. I thought it’d be funny/cool to make a “1st Bowman super” for him, or at least an unofficial approximation. On the back it’s stamped, signed by the artist, dated with the year, and numbered 1/1 for 2023. To be clear, this is a creatively altered card, a.k.a “mod”, not a printed custom nor official variation. Some background info: I collected cards as a kid back in what’s now known as the Junk Wax era, and after returning to the hobby in 2012, I took up a hobby-within-the-hobby of doing creative things with great-but-cheap cards. I like “remixing” cool old cards to give them a fresh spin, and think collectors of players from this era could get a kick out of adding new-ish “playing days” cards more interesting than a missing period on the back, you know? These mods are obviously not meant for grading/investment, just something unique to spice up your PC.
