Boards rubbed and stained. Front placard bright, with some rubbing and a small chip. Spine placard comparatively more rubbed and duller. Foredge tips pushed and a little exposed. Hinges sturdy at the front gutters, with interior hinge at the half and full title a little tender and over-opened (but not cracked). Internally, the binding is sound, but over-opened in a few locations. Spine tanned, with notable fraying at the crown, showing loss and exposed signatures around the board joints (closeups provided). Free and clear of writing and underlining. There is speckle-pattern staining in the gutter margin of page 52/53.
