Description: This listing is for one used copy of the exceedingly rare Wandering Star Publisher's Edition of The Savage Tales of Solomon Kane by Robert E. Howard, and accompanying ephemera. Only 100 such books were ever printed (this being number 54) and Wandering Star never--to the best of my knowledge--offered any for public sale. Like the 1050 print run of the limited edition, the publisher's edition contains four color plates, 200+ black and white text illustrations, color endpapers, a wrap-around dust jacket, and a gilded top edge. It is signed by the illustrator (Gary Gianni) and comes in a matching slipcase, accompanied by (1) a portfolio of additional color plates and (2) a CD of several poems appearing in the edition, set to music. The publisher's edition differs from the limited edition in two main respects: first, the dust jacket art has been bound into the back of the book, as a fold-out; second, the portfolio contains certain additional color and black-and-white plates not included in the limited edition. The following description is not exhaustive. The text and color-plate pages are unmarked, the binding is sound, and color illustrations are vivid. There is light creasing to many of the right-hand pages (note: this is the reason I have chosen to list this item as in "acceptable" condition; please see pictures for representative examples), a small marking on the back of the fold-out, and a small spot on the front of the slipcase.
