The Day After - DVD - 1983 Film about Nuclear War

Description: This is a DVD version (manufactured in 2004) of the influential 1983 movie "The Day After." The movie depicts what nuclear war would look like in Kansas and Missouri. When it was broadcast on television in 1983, it was watched by over 100 million viewers (including me). It had the effect of taking a lot of the glamour out of the idea of nuclear war. It was also shown in the Soviet Union and may have played a small role in the signing of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, and perhaps in ending the Cold War itself. The film was directed by Nicholas Meyers (fresh from his work on "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan"). The cast includes Jason Robarts, Jobeth Williams, Steven Guttenberg, and John Lithgow. The film won two Emmy Awards.
