This is the four shillings No Date banknote issued by the Bahamas Government. The note is undated but was first introduced in 1947. It is green on multicolored underprint on the front. The front of the note shows a sail ship in a circular frame to the left and the image of King George VI of England to the right. The back is red and green in color and depicts arms to the left and denomination to the right. The front displays the denomination, and three signatures. This particular note has the serial number A/7 788079 printed in red twice on the front but not on the back. The note has a watermark depicting the bust of Christopher Columbus but has no security thread. This is a very nice note to add to your collection. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: The note is undated but prefix A/7 suggests that it was introduced in 1947. Printer: Thomas De La Rue & Company Ltd. London England Size: The banknote measures ~6" by ~3 1/4". Pick Number: P 9e and is listed in the Banknote Book as B108e. Condition: I would grade this note as very fine or better with all its details being well preserved. The note is intact with some minor light folds and a few bumps. It is lightly soiled and has a small stain on the back. The edges are intact with some roughness but no tears or splits. The note has no pinholes and no graffiti. The corners are intact but have bumps and some rounding. The one issue we see, is the fact that the note has a central horizontal crease that is soiled on the back and shows-up as a brown horizontal line.
