I have always had it in a fitted protective cover. There is a little crinkling at the spine ends. The flaps look good. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. Alfred A. Knopf, New York, 1969. Hardcover in Dust Jacket. Stated 'Seventh Printing, October 1969.' The first printing was published in May, 1969. This is a rather rare signed copy of the 1969 edition. You can see the inscription in the photograph. The book was inscribed to a Jack Gardner. Mr. Gardner penned his last name off the top edge of the signed page (also off the top edge of the last page, 'A Note On The Type' page). The inscription reads: 'For Jack Gardner-- With all best wishes for the future avoidance of floods, Michael Crichton, NC August 1973.'
