All plug in boards in the pre amp section and those in the dbx unit were removed edge connectors cleaned and polished . Heads are in in excellent conditions these two were carefully cleaned and polished , the rubber capstan roller is new and every single potentiometer and various switches cleaned with top quality electronic cleaner fader lube called DE OXIT 5 . Custom made cable made from quality teflon silver color coded wires from recorder dbx module connector to dbx recorder module this cable is lost on just about any 40-4 tape deck I have seen with this one you will never lose it . The 40-4 is a true professional 4ch tape deck with high quality AC motors for extra long life and truly superb performance the fast forward and rewind are effortless and super fast it was made for professional recording engineer . It makes truly awesome recordings that will make you proud both with and without dbx . It’sa 4 track with 7 1/2 and 15 ips machine . The brochure of this tape deck describe it as top quality machine that can be used continously for 24 hours day and night if desired . This tape deck has been used sparingly since new except for minor imperfection in the wood cabinets it look close to new both outside and inside as seen in the pics and in video where you can see an actual test recording being made on it in real time with dbx unit ON. The tape used was ampex new one track 1 and 3 being recorded at a time for stereo sound . No matter how much you tried you could not tell the difference between the source and recorded sound in fact to my ears the recorded sound was better . It’s is VERY HEAVY! Weighing 75 lbs ! Out of the box giving you idea of quality at hand and it’s very attractive . The tapes and the two NAB adapters are not included as they are for my use . All cables shown in the pics are included ..
