Description: From 1972: The earliest issues of DC Comics' Edgar Rice Burroughs licensed adaptations, picking up the numbering from where the previous Western comics series ended. Some great artists are represented here, including Joe Kubert, Murphy Anderson, Gray Morrow, Frank Thorne, Mike Kaluta and Alan Weiss. Each of these comics is 25-cent cover priced, Giant-sized, and unlike most of the other "Bigger and Better" format comics of the day, these are composed of almost all new material, with only minimal reprints. Each is complete, all staples are intact, free from rust, and are holding all pages and covers together. No water damage. Average condition is Fine Plus, and specific defects will be noted below. Tarzan #207 features a Joe Kubert cover, script and 26 pages of interior artwork for "The Origin of the Ape-Man Book 1" There are 3 pages reprinted from the 1931 Hal Foster Tarzan Sunday newspaper strip, and an 8-page John Carter, Warlord of Mars story with Murphy Anderson artwork. This comic is in Fine Plus condition. There is some mild ink transfer staining visible around the white border areas of the back cover and along the white strip of the spine's front cover. Tarzan #208 continues Joe Kubert's adaptation of Tarzan's origin story, has 3 more Hal Foster Sunday pages reprinted here from 1932, and a John Carter story drawn by Gray Morrow. This one is Fine condition, not quite as nice as the #207. The ink transfer is more pronounced on this issue, there is a crease at the lower left-hand corner of the back cover, and a few tiny tears along the left-hand edge of the front cover. Korak Son of Tarzan #46 has a Joe Kubert cover. Inside, Len Wein scripts the Korak story "The Treasure Vaults of Opar!" with artwork by Frank Thorne. In addition, adaptations begin of Carson of Venus with Mike Kaluta artwork and At the Earth's Core with art by Alan Weiss. This comic is in Fine Plus condition. Mild discoloration around the otherwise white border areas of the front and back covers. In this case the discloration is more tanning rather than ink transfer. Please check out my other items, as multiple comics can ship at no additional postage charge.
