Description: T206 El Principe De Gales - Guy "Doc" White (Pitching) - Chicago White Sox - PSA 1 - Scarce backOn the player- Guy "Doc" White (1879–1969): White was a graduate of Georgetown Dental School. His nickname "Doc" was a natural, considering he practiced his dental skills during the off-season. Doc White was a very good MLB pitcher who finished his career with 189 wins, 156 losses, and an ERA of 2.39. In addition to his athletic and dental activities, White was a published musician, and vaudeville performer. On the back and card: El Principe De Gales (The Prince of Wales) is a scarce and exotic advertising back generally thought to comprise only around 1% of all T206 backs. This PSA 1 graded card is a nice addition to any T206 collection, especially collections focused on better backs and low population cards. Set information: The 1909-1911 T206 baseball card set is considered one of the most important sets, probably the most important set in baseball history. Together with the 1933 Goudey set, and the 1952 Topps set, the T206 set completes the “Big Three” classic baseball card sets. Affectionately named “The Monster” based on its 524-card size, the T206 set is home to some of the most valuable vintage baseball cards in the hobby, including the famed T206 Honus Wagner rarity.
