Description: For sale is a 1982 Boston Warehouse Bentson-West Design Stoneware Oven to bake a King's Mold Cake with a 2 1/4" porcelain King figurine. Brown stoneware oven / pan is 12 3/4" across with a 1 1/4" tall edge and weighs a bit over 3 pounds. Center of stoneware mold is an engraved crown surrounded by scrolling leaves, a bow, and a scalloped edge. The porcelain king figure is inserted into the batter and baked and tradition has it that the person receiving the figure becomes the monarch for a week or today you would be the winner! It comes with the original box which has recipes on the back and a history of this tradition. The stoneware oven is in great shape and appears to have had little use - no chips, cracks, wear, or scratches - a stain on the back which is unfinished stoneware. There is what looks like a tiny glaze pop pointed out in the last photo. Box has some stains and scuffs.
