Also included are the gear locos – Shay, Heisler, and Climax. Book is in excellent condition. Dust jacket is ok and but has some tears on back leaf. 2. Steam Trains An American Portrait – Colin Garratt – Mallard Press - 240 pages - 1989 - Hard cover - 11” x 12 1/4” x 7/8”Mostly color photographs with some text. Many of them full page. A beautiful pictorial presentation of the bygone days of steam trains and locomotives. It covers the use of steam trains in various industries like logging, steel, ore, and coal. It also goes into freight and passenger trains. Book is in very good plus condition. Dust jacket is ok and but has some tears on back part of cover. 3. Alexander – Bonanza Books. - 239 pages - 1941 - Hard cover - 11 1/4" x 8 1/4" x 1" - Former library bookMany drawings of early American locomotives from 1829 to 1900. The drawings are accompanied by historical text about each locomotive. Book is in very good shape. Dust jacket is good. It is covered with plastic and has been taped on. (I guess by the library.)
