This part originated from a well cared-for Star Firestar M45 semiautomatic pistol chambered in .45 ACP. Condition is favorable overall: There are some light handling marks from general use and operation. Beyond that, the Magazine Safety is in very nice shape overall, especially considering its age of 30+ years! Keep in mind that THERE IS SUPPOSED TO BE a slight bend in the arm of the Safety, just as seen in the photoset. COMPATIBLE MODELS: For the sake of those who build, restore, repair or otherwise tinker with restoration projects, we provide the following information: The part in this Listing is ONLY compatible with the Star Firestar M45 Semiautomatic Pistol. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE on any of the following: - Star Firestar M43 (9mm Single Stack model) - Star Firestar M40 (.40 S&W Single Stack Model) - Star Firestar Plus M243 (9mm Double Stack Model) - Star Firestar Plus M240 (.40 S&W Double Stack Model) There are virtually NO components in the M45 Firestar chambered in .45 ACP that will work in the smaller 9mm and .40 S&W Models. The M45 is a much larger pistol, and is also thicker than the smaller caliber single-stack models, - but narrower than the smaller-caliber double stack models. Slides, Hammers, Mag Releases, Safety Levers, Pins, Triggers & Trigger bars, etc are NOT cross-compatible between the M45 and the other models due to differences in size and geometry.. The overall length of the Magazine Safety Arm, as well as the length of the Axis of the Safety are specific to the pistol its intended to be used on, and in this case, is specific ONLY to the Firestar M45 model that was chambered in .45 ACP.
