Description: Hi, and, thank you for stopping by to look at this Stanley Bailey Number 5 Corrugated Bottom Jack Plane. The plane has scratches, dings, discoloration, some japanning loss, some pitting on the sole/sides, and other metal parts. This is a type 8, but looks like it has a type 6 alpha lever cap. The frog has the 'B' letter casting on the back. This can definitely be a totally original parts plane. As Stanley did not create any type studies, and you can't always go by that, but of course you can get very close. The tote's horn is chipped off on top. The front knob is fine though. The blade doesn't have a whole lot of metal left but it's still a little bit usable, though it would need tuning up. You don't often see, the type 7 or 8 corrugated planes very often, even though I'm sure a lot were made at the time. The plane could use a little more cleaning. Please look over the photos carefully. No cracks or repairs, that can be seen on the plane body. All moving parts work. Lightly cleaned, and oiled. If you have any questions, please contact me through, the eBay sellers portal for questions. Items usually shipped next business day. Again thank you so very much for stopping by, and looking. I wish you a wonderful day or evening!
