Description: This auction is for a Wonderful Staffordshire Blue Canton Pagoda Transfer Sauce Tureen, Ladle + Tray, England, c. 1800 - 1820. This is a very attractive dark blue and white transfer sauce tureen, ladle and undertray with an early transfer scene that looks like the Chinese Canton pattern with more pagodas. This sauce tureen and undertray are beautiful with an embossed border design on the outside of the lid and tray. Both the tureen and tray are oval shaped and the tureen has four feet. The undertray has embossed handle on each end with a dark blue and light blue transfer to the raised handles.The undertray has a deep blue-green pooling to the pottery body. This is one of the few times I have been able to find a tureen and undertray that still has it's matching ladle! I offer this fine early Staffordshire sauce tureen, ladle and tray with no reserve and a Buy It Now. DIMENSIONS: The sauce tureen is 5 15/16" H. (top of lid) x 4 1/2" W. x 8 3/16" L. (handle to handle). The undertray is 1 1/16" H. x 6 1/4" W. x 8 3/4" L.. The ladle is 6 3/8" L and 2 5/8" Dia. at the bowl. CONDITION: The condition of the tureen is very good with minimal wear and very minor blemishes. The tray is in very good condition for the age with a small chip to one corner of the embossed handle, and a chip to the foot rim with some wear to the underside of the base.
