Asclepias species its milky, irritating sap and strong attractiveness to Monarch butterflies and a host of other insects. Very tolerant of dry conditions, it is also called Green Antelopehorn. Spider Milkweed features rose-white flowers surrounded by green that form in showy umbellated clusters, often one per plant. Its beauty and tendency to spread slightly make it a good garden choice. Germination requires moist cold stratification: Place your Milkweed seeds in a damp paper towel inside a ziplock bag. Don't forget to label the bag with the date and type of seed. Store the mixture in the refrigerator (33–38°F) for 30 days. Plant them in seed trays, peat pots, small pots or any other container that allows for water drainage. Once the soil is damp, place 1-2 seeds into each container. Sow seeds lightly on the top of the soil, or barely cover with soil.
