Reinforced with Longstreets corps, Bragg at length advanced to destroy the strung out and seperated Union force. Early on 19 September, the Confederates engaged the partially concentrated Union army at Chickamauga Creek in a battle that would eventually claim some 33,000 casualties on both sides. Historically, the South won the Battle of Chickamauga, but their victory was not decisive. The South failed the destroy the Army of the Ohio and lost the opportunity to recapture Chattanooga. Chickamauga provides two players with an opportunity to alter the historical outcome of this critical battle of the American Civil War. Each player is in command of infantry, cavalry, and artillery units representative of the forces actually present at Chickamauga Creek during those decisive days. A detailed map of the area, including all terrain pertinent to the battle, provides an authentic playing area for this historic re-enactment. Images sell!
