To set the lock, step on the brakes, push the lock knob down, and take your foot off the brake. To release the lock, step on the brake again slightly harder than before and it will release automatically. Warning:This is not compatible with any silicone brake fluid. I was expecting to be able to mount this line lock device in the rear brake line, run a cable to the pass. compartment to operate the knob , and use this method as the Park Brake on my classic chevy. Turns out the knob was too hard to engage for a cable to operate. Im trying to relocate/eliminate the park brake cables from the middle of the chassis to avoid exhaust/cable interference.
