Description: This 1988 silkscreen is in mint condition. Never used, it has no tears, folds or age spots. Colors are strong and vibrant; paper is sturdy. Artist Sixto Cotto Morales pencil signed and numbered the silkscreen: 55/350. ARTIST'S BIO: Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico in 1955, Sixto Cotto Morales was a painter, teacher and graphic artist. He studied under Antonio Martorell and Jose Alicea at the "Escuela de Artes Plasticas de Puerto Rico" where he majored in Graphic Arts and earned a BFA. He was a founding member of the Puerto Rican Arts Collective - Arts in the Streets. He participated in collective exhibitions in Puerto Rico and a travelling exhibit of Puerto Rican art in US-based universities between 1985-87. He's known for using Puerto Rican elements, symbols and expressions in his paintings. Cotto Morales died in Bayamon, P.R. in 2015.
