British Bulldog Girl Synopsis:It is 1930s Australia and debonair, forward-thinking young clergyman, Anthony Campion (Hugh Grant) has arrived from England with his wife Estella (Tara Fitzgerald) to find a scandal brewing. Notorious bohemian Norman Lindsay (Sam Neill) is exhibiting a picture that has outraged the church establishment and the Bishop of Sydney prevails on Anthony to visit the painter and negotiate its withdrawal. The couple travel to the beautiful Blue Mountains and spend several days with the Lindsay family and three free-spirited models (Elle MacPherson, Kate Fischer and Portia De Rossi) who are posing for a nude painting of the legendary Sirens. As Anthony debates with Norman, he is shocked to realise his wife is being drawn into the seductive games of the three sirens and soon fears his very marriage is under threat. Slyly humorous, sexy and ravishing to look at, Sirens is a feast for the senses. A young reverend and his wife are on the way from England to Australia to minister to their flock. The bishop asks him to visit an eccentric artist prone to sexual depictions and requests that he voluntarily withdraw a controversial work call 'Crucified Venus' from his show. The minister, who considers himself a progressive, is shocked at the amoral atmosphere surrounding the painter, his wife, and the three models living at his estate. The minister's wife is troubled also, and has to deal with latent sexual urges while trying to remain loyal to her husband. When a painting is termed blasphemous, a young minister and his wife visit the artist... and the three sexually playful models living with him.
