Description: This is the clutch and motor assembly for an old Singer Sewing machine Model 78-1. This machine was an early electrical powered industrial/commercial heavy duty machine capable of sewing very heavy fabrics, canvas and leather. The motor is similarly heavy duty cast construction. It is amazingly heavy. It was painted about 35 years ago. The letters were highlighted in gold paint as shown. The machine and motor have been used intermittently by me and my family for the last 50 years. It was working fine when recently removed from the machine.
