Description: This is a really nice find for someone who wants to mount a shutterless lens into a shutter. This is one of the shutters you can find that have the largest available opening in front and rear, so you can mount the most lenses possible on it. Please read carefully and take a good look at the pictures, as this item seems like it was very well loved and adapted to several lenses in the past, so it comes with some extras. The front had a 61mm size thread inside that black ring that you see in the photos. As you can see, that black ring itself has two circular holes meant for a spanner wrench. This makes me think that this black ring could be unscrewed, and then there would be a 68mm thread between the black and silver pieces, but I can not guarantee it. For now let’s just say it’s a 61mm thread alone there. However, a pretty neat adapter for some small lens was previously manufactured (very much looks like the work of S.K. Grimes)and comes with the lens – it’s the ring you see that screws into that 61mm thread, it has an opening of 41.5mm and looks like a lens was attached to it via 4 screws, holed for this are still present. Of course chances are slim that you have a lens with exact same flange size and all that, but this ring would be super easy for any machinist to adapt to a slightly larger lens. The rear seems to have two threads available for possibly mounting the rear portion of the lens (if your lens is indeed the type meant to have a shutter in the middle of the lens) – those threads are 59mm and 63mm. There are NO APERTURES in this shutter though, so I believe it as meant for a barrel lens with its own aperture system or Waterhouse slot. The rear does have the original retaining ring that would make it very easy to mount it on any lens board with a 68mm hole in it. All shutter speeds work very well. Yellow lever cocks the shutter and Blue one is the release. Red lever opens and closes the shutter for focusing. Interestingly enough, both Blue and Red levers have places for cable releases, probably for ease of opening and closing between focusing. There’s also a modern X-synch, so you can hook it up to any flash system. As you can see there are some minor scuffs and scratches on the body, but overall this shutter is in great shape, and will work for another 50 years, affording you a plethora of creative possibilities. Feel free to ask question if you have them. I’m a photographer myself, and have been buying and selling equipment on here for over 20 years now. I always do my best to describe the items as accurately as I can. Take a close look at the pictures, I try to show all possible flaws there, and so in real life my items look better than on here.Good luck bidding.
