This bottle was dug up in Coloma, California near the gold discovery site, on Highway 49, while excavating a sewer line in the early 1970s (Approximately 1973). The contractor was named Teach. William Searby opened his pharmacy in 1866. It was shortly renamed Union Drug Company and the Searby bottle discontinued. This is a rare bottle. Searby later became dean of UCSF and founded and ran many pharmacy organizations. He is credited for many thing in changed in the industry.
