Description: Scarce Zack Taylor Single Signed Baseball. Taylor was a notable Major League catcher/manager who played from 1920-1935 with the Brooklyn Robins, Boston Braves, New York Giants, Chicago Cubs and New York Yankees. After his playing career, he became better known as the manager for the St. Louis Browns, when he led the 1944 squad to the A.L. pennant - the team's only championship in its 52 years in St. Louis. Taylor passed away in 1974 and his signature is considered scarce in any variation. This is likely the only single signed ball that is known to exist. The blue fountain pen signature is perfectly centered on the sweet spot and rates approximately 8/10 in strength. The ball is in excellent condition with minor toning. The year “1954” is neatly written in period ink. Includes a Full Letter of Authenticity from JSA (#BB11985).
