The year after Call To Arms was released in 2011, the band was already working on their next album.In March 2012, Biff Byford announced that the band already had an idea for a new song and had begun writing and arranging it.In July, a video of the band's studio jam session for the album was posted on YouTube.Then, in August, it was announced that recording would begin, and Andy Sneep, who had worked on ACCEPT and NEVERMORE, was announced as the first participant in production. Andy mixes and masters, and vocalist Biff produces.Andy's mix was completed by October.The band announced the album title “Sacrifice ” and tour dates.In February, the music video for the title track "Sacrifice" was released and the album was released on March 1, 2013.The CD deluxe edition also includes a bonus disc containing re-recorded versions of five classic songs from SAXON.The music of these five songs will also be included in the commemorative album. After the release of the album, they went on a world tour.The tour started in the United States, followed by a Monsters of Rock cruise and a tour in South America.In April they toured the UK, followed by a European tour, followed by a headliner appearance at Bang Your Head festival in Germany and an appearance at Hellfest in France.Compared to 2011's Call to Arms, Sacrifice had a heavier metal feel, and was well received with heavy and speedy guitars throughout, perhaps influenced by Andy Sneep.
