Description: You are purchasing this SAINT ANNE DE BEAUPRE DSR FRANCE STATUE FIGURINE EARLY 1900'S METAL GILT IN AS IS PREOWNED CONDITION. Marked DSR - D. Saundinas Ritauret a well known mason who specialized in objects of worship. Also marked FRANCE on the back vertically and on the bottom front reads St. Anne de Beaupre. St. Anne de Beaupre is known as Jesus's grandmother - the mother of Mary - but also as the patron saint of women, married women and childless couples. She is known for her miracles of healing. This statue measures approximately 1.25" length X 4" height X 1" depth. Weight is 5.2 oz. Made of spelter or bronze metal with an external gilt. It depicts the saint holding a child. Good preowned condition. Markings are visible with the front marking a bit disrupted by damage. Unsure but this may have sat atop something else. Some scuffs and scratches and loss of gilt from age and use. There is a hole at the back of the saint's shoulders for hanging or was affixed to something at one time. At the front bottom left of the statue there is a break in the base with a bit of rough edge. Statue stands solid after a bit of wobble. Please see all pictures as they are part of the description.
