Sabian 14" HH Dark / Sizzle Hats!

Description: Top HH Dark - 925g Bottom HH Sizzle - 1398g Excellent Yin and Yang with an HH Dark over a bright HH Sizzle Bottom. Both were refreshed with full cleaning and polishing top and bottom. Great dark-crisp hats that can be chill enough for jazz and bright & loud enough for rock when played fairly open. Both cymbals have extra flat profiles and mesh nicely. Such a tasty combo! These are similar to the famous Zildjian K/Z pairing, but they do have their own unique sound being vented and well-hammered -and the rivets are icing on the cake. The top hat is nearly perfect. It has one tiny ding on the edge, yet the edge is not bent there, so it's purely cosmetic. Being a medium-thin cymbal, the hand hammering is more subtle than the bottom, and it was hard to capture it in the pics, but up close you can see the cymbal-smith did a beautiful job. The bell of the top shows the hammering better. Really nice workmanship, and these days a lot of hand-hammered cymbals don't get hammering on the bell. The bottom is a factory Sizzle hat, and both the vent holes in the bell and rivet holes were all factory punched. There are some small scratches on it, but that's it. No dings on this one, just the lovely hand-hammering, which is more noticeable as it's a thicker cymbal with deeper hammering. Like the top, it received plenty of attention. These were made when Sabian was getting started and eager to take market share from Zildjian and Paiste. That means you get outstanding workmanship for a good price. The hammering on the bottom is incredible. The top hat is too, but again, it's subtle because it's a thinner cymbal. They even hammered the bells really nicely. There's a lot of junky and boring cymbals out there. Grab these unique, early Sabian Hand-Hammered beauties while you can. X-posted.
