The place is known as Kizhi and it’s the site of World Heritage. The complex of wooden Orthodox churches situated on the Kizhi Island in Onega Lake consists of three buildings united by a fence. The most famous of them is the Transfiguration Church which has 22 wooden domes. The wooden churches of Kizhi are depicted on the one side of the token framed by the ornamented stripes. The Coat of Arms of Karelia is struck in the upper part of the coin’s side due to Kizhi Churches are situated on its territory. The name of Kizhi in Russian and English are placed by the sides of the emblem; and the inscription which states “The pearl of Russian North” is struck below the central image. The other side of the token shows the emblem of Tobolsk in the middle and the inscriptions of the town and the country around it.
