Description: ROYAL COPENHAGEN 1941 Christmas Plate Nørre Herlev Church is the subject of the Royal Copenhagen 1941 Christmas plate, the 34th plate in the series that began in 1908 and continues to this day. It depicts the village church in the center of Nørre Herlev, a village in Hillerød Municipality, northeast of Copenhagen. The church was started in the mid-12th century, with additions added through the 16th century. It is a classic Danish village church, being built largely of brick with a distinctive brick tower with a stepped gable. As of 1 January 2024 Nørre Herlev has a population of 424 inhabitants. The scene is embossed on Danish porcelain and hand painted in traditional Copenhagen blue under the glaze, approximately 7.25 inches (18 cm) in diameter. Pierced foot for hanging wire.
