The center has a picture of Independence Hall in 1776. Above is the Liberty Bell & around the rolled edge are six furthe scenes of Philadelphia, namely :- Judge Chew's House Carpenters Hall Letitia House (Original residence of William Penn) Old United States Mint Old Swedes Church Betsy Ross House The plate was commissioned by the importers, wholesalers and retaiiers, Rowland & Marsellus Co. of New York. During the late 19th century up until WW2 R & M imported souvenir ware from several Staffordshire pottery companies. The plate is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.
