"The Greatest Rock & Roll Band In The World", the Rolling Stones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989, and in 2004 they were ranked #4 in Rolling Stone Magazine's 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. This is one of my favorite poster images, affectionately referred to as 'Factory Girl' or 'European China Girl'. The supposed backstory of this poster is that the model was the Premier of China's daughter. Premier Zhou demanded final approval of the poster before the Stones could sell it. When he saw the way his daughter was depicted, he refused to give permission. It was too late to put together another poster, so there was no "official" tour poster that year. Sounds less than credible to me, but what do I know? It's one of the more rare Stones tour posters out there. This classic poster image is featured in the book The Art of Rock p. 417, plate 4.274.
