The masthead of this periodical has a decorative and displayable masthead of St. JOHN's Gate which is still standing today. This journal from the year of 1777 is still adjoined at the spine and is not at all brittle as it was printed on a heavy rag/linen paper and can be handled and researched without causing damage to the issue. It is 5 x 8 inches in size and is guaranteed to be as described. This Historical Chronicle contains an enormous amount of text/articles pertaining to the Revolutionary War happenings from the year of 1777. These include mention of General Howe, Lord Cornwallis, Battle of Trenton, Independence of the Colonies and Rebels recrossing the Delaware River among others. Also included in this issue is a wonderful Revolutionary War map of Philadelphia. It is 12 x 14 1/2 inches in size and in very good condition for a map printed in 1777!
