Description: Item : This watercolor beach scene was done by Rebecca Bateman Hardy (1914-2013). It is identified on the back as Jacksonville Beach, Florida. The painting is done on watercolor paper and has been nicely matted, framed in a metal frame and covered with plexiglass. With frame, the painting measures 8 1/4" by 10 1/4" and inside the mat the painting measures 4 1/2" by 6 1/2". The painting is signed in the lower right. The frame has a few small light scratches but is in overall very good condition. And, the painting looks to be in excellent condition. Rebecca studied art at the Corcoran Gallery in Washington D.C. Later in life, at the age of 72, she retired to Jacksonville Florida where she continued her career as an artist, winning Best of Show awards for her work as well as the Grumbacher Award.
