Description: For sale here is a vintage style t-shirt from the Real McCoys. In case you couldn’t guess, the Real McCoys are very much one of those Japanese “repro” brands, remaking and reimaging classic (typically American) work and military wear with an almost obsessive attention to detail and in many cases using better quality materials than the originals. This shirt comes from the Real McCoy’s “Buco” range. From what I gather, Buco was a motorcycle apparel manufacturer in Detroit during some period of the 1950s and 60s. The Real McCoys have been using their designs for a little while, although quantity is always pretty rare. This particular design is based on the classic striped tee, very much a vintage staple, done here in a super high quality knit slub cotton. The McCoys family of labels is nothing if not obsessive about details and the quality of their materials. The fabric with this shirt really sets it apart. This is one of those pieces made using high quality long staple cotton and knit on vintage looms, allowing for the pleasantly uneven “slub” effect you can see with the fabric. Modern production methods simply are not capable of producing this kind of fabric. As with any McCoys piece, this is also very well built and hard-wearing. McCoys manufactures with longevity in mind, and their clothing will only get better with age. This is not something you wear for a couple of months and then get rid of. The timeless design and super tough construction ensure that you can keep it with you for years. Size label has frayed, but I believe this is a McCoys large. I measure the chest at 21”, shoulders at 19”, sleeves at 26” and length at 27”. The shirt comes in lightly used, very good shape, with no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan.
