Description: This is an etching by one of the Weiss sister twins, born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1889. This is a work byRay Weiss, who along with her sister Minna, both graduated from the Pratt Institute of Design in 1911. Thesisters traveled throughout Europe in the late 1920’s and early 1930’s, sketching the people and places, that are subjects of there prints. Their works are part of permanent collections of the British Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art and the New York Public Library. The etching is somewhat toned but in good condition, with theplate marks measuring 4 1/4” x 7”, in an edition 18/30, that’s well framed, measuring 11 1/4” x 14 1/4”.
