RARE Vintage White Mountain 8 (EIGHT) Qt HAND CRANK Ice Cream FREEZER Maker

Description: Selling this RARE & vintage White Mountain EIGHT (8) Quart HAND CRANK Ice Cream Freezer. This is a COMPLETE SYSTEM and it's ready to go. The wooden bucket is approx. 15-3/4" tall x 12-3/4" dia. at the top (excluding metal brackets and handles). The walls of this early bucket are very thick - much heavier than most wood buckets. This unit does NOT come with the Original Box, but DOES come with the original recipe book /instruction manual. This wonderful piece of literature has cool vintage graphics and is full of history, recipes, operating instructions and it is dated July 1, 1954 on the back cover. I hate to part with this rare machine, but I really don't have a good place to store and/or display it. I'm sure some of you avid collectors will be able to display it properly and appreciate it more than it would be appreciated in my home. They are hard to find especially in this condition, so this may be your best chance to own a great one!!! CONDITION: It is USED but I consider this machine to be EXCELLENT overall condition especially considering the age. I tested the hand crank mechanism and it works great (see VIDEO). The metal bracket & latch have typical rust from use. The metal carrier & wooden handle have rust & wear but are still in excellent condition. The crank mechanism is in excellent working condition with typical overall wear. There are the typical scratches, scuffs, dings, dents, stains, chips & wood loss to the wooden bucket, however this bucket is in amazing overall condition - I cleaned the bucket with soap & water and then applied vegetable oil to restore the natural wood appearance. The canister is in very good condition with typical tarnishing, rust, scratches, dings & dents from handling / use. I tested it for more than one hour with warm water and it does NOT leak. The wood bucket retains the original paper advertising label. The label is approx. 75% complete, and has typical wear, tear, dirt, stains & fading as would be expected. The wooden dasher blades / scrapers look good - no splits or breaks that I could see but there is some very minor wear to the edges of the scrapers as would be expected. The raised steel TUB CENTER piece on the bottom inside of the bucket has typical rust but I expect it will last for many more years. The steel outside retainer rings shows typical rust but they're still solid and will last for many more years of use as well. The recipe book / instruction manual has a lot of wear, tears and stains - I don't know if it original to this machine but it is still a very nice and useful compliment. NOTE: If you prefer to have a label with better appearance, you can purchase a very durable vinyl replacement sticker for only $20 on eBay: eBay item number:145859735376 As you probably know by now White Mountain no longer markets these American legendary Old Fashioned Ice Cream Makers. Therefore, the demand has gone through the roof for these units that have long been recognized as the highest quality system since 1853. The performance of TRIPLE-MOTION dasher system is second to none. Be sure to buy one while they're still available! Making ice cream with these vintage machines is a fun family activity, or a great way to entertain friends any time of the year, winter or summer! It's also a great collector's piece and will make a nice addition to your collection of vintage ice cream makers. The electric units are best for old guys like me! HAND CRANK units especially bring back old memories with your children, just like we remember when we were kids and took turns hand turning the machine to make that special ice cream prize!
