Description: Vintage Petoskey Stone Polished Mushroom Set Of 3. A set of 3 Petoskey stone double mushrooms. Each piece is unique in shape. In great pre-owned vintage condition. The only minor things I see is the green felt is off one of the mushroom bases and original glue has weathered and darkened with time and I also noticed one small chip on the underside of one mushroom (it's not visible from the top unless you're really looking for it) and a few superficial scratches on one stone base but could possibly be polished out. There is a tiny blue mark on the larger mushroom base, not sure what that's about. (See photos) These are not major issues and definitely does not take away from the beauty of these natural stone mushrooms. They are still in great displayable ~collectable condition! Approximate measurements for each are: 3" X 4" larger 2.25" X 3" smaller 2.25" X 3" smaller Petoskey Stone "This interesting stone is a variety of Calcite. It was formed by the fossilization of ancient coral, Hexagonaria. The coral lived in shallow waters and today's fossil often includes ancient silt and mud. Petoskey Stones are found on many beaches of Lake Michigan and Lake Huron, as well as in rock quarries from Travers City to Alpena. The honeycomb patterned stone has a hardness from 4 to 5 and is the official Michigan State Stone." My items are pre-loved vintage pieces and with that comes the normal wear and tear of age. I believe it adds character to these one of a kind pieces! Of course if an item has damage that is more than the normal wear and tear I will do my best to accurately describe it. Please refer to the pictures for a more accurate look and of course, if there is any question please feel free to ask! *I do combine shipping. *A handling cost may apply with this item. And don't forget to browse through my other items up for sale. Thanks for looking!
