Rare MONTANA ghost town HUTCH hutchinson SODA BOTTLE Rocky Mountain MARYSVILLE

Description: A RARE 7 inch tall beautiful TURQUOISE aqua marine COLORED antique HUTCHINSON SODA BOTTLE from 'MARYSVILLE MONTANA' which today is barely a town at all. Most of the hutch sodas from small towns in Montana are SCARCE to RARE bottles and this one is NO exception. This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand Blown Into Mold bottle (BIM) with a tooled HUTCH top, dating back to the 1880's. Bottle embossed in slug plate: "ROCKY / MOUNTAIN / BOTTLING WORKS / MARYSVILLE, / MONT." Condition: This bottle is in nice shiny condition. It has the typical soda-bottle wear on the outside, tiny nicks and scratches, along with some shovel scrapes along the left side. It has a wisp of interior content stain but ALL of this would polish out with a light tumbling and a MARYSVILLE MONTANA hutch soda is certainly worthy of it. Otherwise it looks to be in just about perfect condition. NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. PLEASE see pictures to get an overall idea of bottle's appearance and condition. Small town Montana hutches from any MONTANA town are scarce to rare and about the only town that there are common hutch sodas from is BUTTE MONTANA and even those are starting to get spendy. MARYSVILLE Montana is high up in the mountains on the east flank of the Continental Divide. Though at one time an Irish miner named Tommy Cruse worked a lone claim up there for decades, he went on to hit it big time and named his mine the DRUMLUMMON MINE for the parish in Ireland where he was born. The town soared in 1880 but the 1893 depression started it on a down hill slide and by 1900, the good times were gone. Today, Marysville consists of some old original buildings and a few residents, but it is far outnumbered by a landscape of long gone building sites, heaps of building rubble, basement sink holes, scattered bricks and boards, and an old cemetery. This bottle is a lonely testimony from the old times when the town was booming. It is a rare bottle and super nice with the ROCKY MOUNTAIN BOTTLING WORKS embossing as the town really is way up in the Rocky Mountains. You don't often see this bottle come up for sale too often and when you do, the bottles are pretty beat.
