Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE This listing is for a beautiful matched pair of Antique Cherub compotes made in Germany. The blue mark (dated from 1907-1927) on the bottom shows this to be a Von Schierholz reticulated porcelain compote with beautifully applied blossoms and fruit on an ornate, reticulated base highlighted with an abundance of gold. The cherubs are draped in gold and the exteriors of the reticulated baskets are also completely gilded, making for an ornate display. Each compote stands 10 ½ inches tall and the baskets measure 6 inches long, 4 inches wide and 1 ½ inches deep. There are some minor flaws to disclose. There is a flake on a wing tip to the cherub on the left with a fractured petal to a flower on the base. The cherub on the right is missing a wing tip and also has a fractured flower petal and a fleabite to a leaf. On display, you would be hard pressed to find these flaws but they are there. The condition of the gold, however, is incredible! Please examine all of the photographs and feel free to ask any questions that you may have… This pair of reticulated compotes with cherubs displays beautifully on a dining table or buffet!
