Description: This is a magnificent Feddie Gregory Mark4 tenor sax mouthpiece. Tip opening is 8 and it plays and sounds as good as it can get, it certainly is some of the very finest Freddie's mouthpieces and I owned dozens of them. This is the second of a few mouthpieces Freddie made with the extra metal ring on the body. I asked Freddie to make me a mouthpiece in between Mark2 and Mark4 with an additional metal band on the body and result was a beauty which Freddie named Mark5 and he wanted to keep the extra metal ring design exclusively for the Mark5 model, but the next mouthpiece I asked Freddie to make for me was Mark4 in the style of Mark5 and this Mark4 is the one and that's why Freddie stamped it M5 on the side meaning Mark5 style. Later Rafael Navarro got from me the first original Mark5 and as more people saw the design Freddie ended up making few other Mark2 or Mark4 mouthpieces with an extra metal ring, not many. This Mark4 is an absolute gem. I asked Freddie to make me a Mark4 slightly leaning towards Mark2. It certainly is a Mark4 model with a wonderful balance of a Mark4 power and Mark2 dark sound and the craftsmanship as always is exquisite.
