Description: This is a Civil War Era Large Bowie Knife With Wood & Glass Display Case Blade is made of steel and measures 10" inches long by 2 1/2" inches wide. Total length of knife including handle is 15 1/4" inches long. There is some pitting and some discoloration on the blade. No nicks or breaks. The ricasso / guard is made of brass. Based on our knowledge, it appears that it may have been repaired at the joining point to the blade at some point in the past. The handle is made of some form of bone and is multi-colored. The bone handle is nailed together on both sides. As pictured, it does have veining surface cracks - more on one side than the other. The wooden box has beautiful tongue and groove details on the corners. Two latches in front for securing closed. Glass see through top. Measures 22" inches long by 6" inches wide. The original leather sheath has a design on one side and belt loop for attaching. The leather does have some flaking. Great rare collectible! Feel free to contact us should you have any questions.
