Description: This very rare raw tin Antique Alms Keeper’s Bank is a real find. Likely from Pennsylvania, it dates from the 1820-1850. The condition is almost extraordinary, since the original fabric screen (used so the coins could not be shaken out) is still intact. The hinge is beautifully made as is the hasp for the padlock which supposedly kept the coins for the poor. All in all a real rarity for a collection of early American tin or banks. Excellent condition Beautiful patina Pennsylvania, circa 1840 3.3” High 2.4” Diameter (base)
