Description: This is beautiful and very limited Hand Painte Art Deco Royal Doulton, Made in England China Plate made by the Robert Allen Studios. By the markings on the back, I can pinpoint the manufacturing date. The Doulton mark was used from 1902-1922. The H number 780 was used in 1919, and the RA number and letters stand for Doultons Robert Allen Studio. The 8990 number was from 1914-1918. The Robert Allen Studios often allocated RA-numbers for their hand Painted designs. They were never produced in large quantities and many were never repeated. So this is a Rare Antique Royal Doulton Plate. The design is striking with its Cobalt Blue and Gold Trims. The plate measures 10.25" round. The plate has no chips or nicks. However, it does have some crazing and fading on the gold, given it’s age. Despite these flaws, still in very good used Antique condition.
