Description: "Racing Wings" 1953 Lithograph by Montague Dawson - On the verso of the backing board is the original gallery dealers label, and the title: "Racing Wings" has been printed on raised cardboard then placed on the back, we say this as it is often mistitled as "Isle of Cowes Regatta", and perhaps this is because "Racing Wings" is showing a number of boats that are partaking in the Isle of Cowes Regatta. Glazed Frame Size: 83cm x 58cm x 3.5cm - Lithograph Size: 74cm x 49.5cm Montague Dawson RSMA, FRSA (1890–1973) was a British painter who was renowned as a maritime artist. His most famous paintings depict sailing ships, usually clippers or warships of the 18th and 19th centuries. Do not get this confused with smaller sized prints of this same image, as in our case this is the largest version that was produced circa 1953, of "Racing Wings". The lithograph is in good condition as its always been under-glass and out of direct sunlight. However, the original frame has suffered a lot of wear and tear with loss of paint and plaster in various places, so please see the close-up photos, it's stable, and can be repaired, or replaced with a new one. It's large, framed, and glazed, so will be packaged well.
