Description: This antique chaise settee is a stunning piece of early American primitive furniture. Crafted from fabric and wood, it exudes a rustic charm that is sure to add character to any space. The medium-sized settee is perfect for those looking for a unique addition to their collection, with its brown color early cloth pattern/design and original date of creation between 1800-1899. Possibly earlier. Has had stabilized repairs, even those are Very old! Feels as if the inner cushioning was stuffed w/ Horse hair. Nails/hardware used are Very old! I Beleive it could be even earlier! Measurements: 24” inches X12” inches 12”inches Does have Brass patching for a crack in the wood framing at the very top to secure a split! & looks like an early bracing repair for one of the legs (all shown UPCLOSE in the pictures). Piece is Very sturdy legs the whole piece is sturdy, I have always avoided picking up above the top split as to not put any pressure on the natural wood split. Have never tried to clean cloth material, it could use it I just never felt comfortable to because of its age I’ve chosen to leave that up to the new owner. The salesman's sample settee is unsigned but boasts a remarkable attention to detail. Its non-specific region of origin adds to its mystery and allure. This early American settee is perfect for anyone looking to add a touch of history to their home decor. This piece has survived decade upon decade & holds its integrity still so that now it can become a treasured display in your Collection!!!!
