Description: This piece is about 4" across and a little over 4" tall. It features three tripod "rattle" legs, one of which includes a monkey figural. Experts believe that the region was first occupied by nomadic groups. Over time and as populations grew, chiefdoms developed. When colonizers arrived in Costa Rica, they found distinct groups of people, varying in complexity and culture. Geometric etching decorates the upper portion of the bowl.
