Very nice Portmeirion Porcelain Salad Plate. Crafted in England starting from 1972, this features the Botanic Garden series in the Dog Rose (Rosa Canina) pattern with flowers and lovely butterflies. There is a green laurel band around the border. Portmeirion artist Susan Ellis-Williams came up with the idea for Botanic Garden in 1972, when she was looking through rare books and discovered a volume of beautiful, meticulously drawn floral illustrations. The launch of Botanic Garden included 28 different flowers and was an immediate success. This measures 8 1/2" Wide rim to rim.
